Walmart shopper reveals why he ‘always orders double’ on certain items as he ‘can’t win’ with delivery drivers

A WALMART shopper has revealed why they ordered two of the same items after receiving damaged products in the mail.

Robbie Smith, an avid toy collector, ordered two Walmart -exclusive Venom action figures this past week.

The package the action figures came in appeared to be kicked in and disfigured prompting the shopper to share their frustration on X .

“This is why I always order double from @Walmart,” the shopper wrote.

“Even packed in a box with bubble wrap, their delivery guy decided to drop kick it I guess? Can’t win, lol. At least one survived…”

The text is accompanied by four pictures, with two of them showing the damage to the box that the two toys came in.

Another picture shows the damage to one of the Venom toys with the plastic it’s wrapped in appearing all bent.

The last picture shows both of the Venom toys the shopper purchased.

The U.S. Sun has reached out to Walmart for comment.

MORE SHOPPERS SHARE FRUSTRATION OVER DELIVERY

This isn’t a shopper’s first complaint about a Walmart delivery.

Earlier this summer, a customer labeled their Walmart delivery a “disaster.”

Shopper, Alida, shared her anger about the delivery order on X .

She tagged Walmart in the post, saying there was a “mistake made on order.”

The user said they were charged for delivery when they were supposed to get free shipping.

While she did not say she is a Walmart+ subscriber, that is typically how shoppers get free shipping from the chain.

Plus, she was missing an item.

    Latest self-checkout changes

Retailers are evolving their self-checkout strategy in an effort to speed up checkout times and reduce theft.

Walmart shoppers were shocked when self-checkout lanes at various locations were made available only for Walmart+ members.

Other customers reported that self-checkout was closed during specific hours, and more cashiers were offered instead.

While shoppers feared that shoplifting fueled the updates, a Walmart spokesperson revealed that store managers are simply experimenting with ways to improve checkout performance.

One bizarre experiment included an RFID-powered self-checkout kiosk that would stop the fiercely contested receipt checks.

However, that test run has been phased out.

At Target, items are being limited at self-checkout.

Last fall, the brand surveyed new express self-checkout lanes across 200 stores with 10 items or less for more convenience.

As of March 2024, this policy has been expanded across 2,000 stores in the US.

Shoppers have also spotted their local Walmart stores restricting customers to 15 items or less to use self-checkout machines.

“I’m out a gallon of ice cream,” she said.

She then remarked on the apparent inconsistency of the company’s service.

“Every time I order with you on groceries it’s a disaster,” she said. “You have great Walmarts and lousy Walmarts.”

    MADNESS OVER NEW RULES

The U.S. Sun has also been following customers’ complaints with the retailer’s new self-checkout policy.

The chain introduced a 15 items or less policy at self-checkout kiosks in some stores earlier this summer and shoppers have not been impressed.

Many have taken to social media to voice their complaints about the rule and question the need for it.

“The new self-checkout rules at the Walmart are atrocious,” Croft Kelly wrote in a post on Facebook .

“I was stopped while at the self-checkout, while self-checking out my 20 items since there [are] always less registers available, to only be scolded that this area is now ’15 items or less.’

“I am utterly disgusted, that this store is making my shopping experience worse by the way it is now operating,” she said.

“And… my husband was with me holding the cart, you see he just had knee replacement… and was in a bit of pain… and we wanted to get the walking, and waiting while standing in line over with,

“I will now shop out of town,” Kelly declared.

Walmart delivery is horrible. Also, we aren't supposed to be charged tax on over the counter food (deli ready made hot food is different) and we have been. maybe that is Walz and Ellison trying to get their cut.
