ONE social media user has shared a complaint in a post, showing proof that she was overcharged at a grocery store.

The user shared an image of her Safeway receipt, citing in her caption that she paid more than she expected for a purchase.

A recent Facebook post from a customer has brought attention to a potential overcharging issue at a Safeway store in San Jose, California.

Catherine Perez, who shopped at Safeway store #1483 on Hamilton Avenue and Meridian, claimed that she was overcharged for several sale items during her recent visit.

Perez detailed her experience in a post, stating that out of her $96 receipt, she identified seven items for which she was charged incorrectly, totaling an overcharge of $14.

She noted a lack of response from the store clerk, who identified himself as the manager, stating there was "absolutely no remorse, no apologies, nothing."

Her post expressed frustration over what she perceived as a disregard for accuracy and customer service.

After receiving a range of comments on her post, Perez added an edited note to clarify that she had accurately reviewed her receipt and had identified multiple errors.

She mentioned that while some of the discrepancies involved digital coupons, others did not.

Perez emphasized that her math was correct, and Safeway refunded her money — a gesture she believes confirms the errors were legitimate.

As of now, there has been no public statement from Safeway regarding the incident.

Comments beneath Perez's post related to her experience, many users explaining that they, too, have gone through the same.

"I have to check my receipt every time I shop at Safeway," shared one person. "Especially if it’s the system that deducts promotions after you are finished being rung up. Esp when it comes to the Free promotional items."

Someone else said, "Just came from the same safeway was over charged for my grapes and yes I had the digital coupon. They were supposed to be 1.97lb."

People also seem to agree that this is a common issue at Safeway, with a third person writing, "I believe this is a Safeway all store problem."

    'STOP RIPPING US OFF'

Outraged Walmart customers have complained about being overcharged by $6 for a popular headache product.

Shoppers urged the retail giant to "stop ripping us off" after noticing that the price charged at checkout did not match the shelf price.

On August 14, Walmart shopper Jennifer Durbin took to Facebook to share her experience at a local store in Henderson, Kentucky.

Durbin went to Walmart to purchase two generic brands of Excedrin, which rang up at $8.38 each, despite being listed at $2.32.

"Y’all, please pay attention at the register!!" she began her post.

"This was at Walmart in Henderson just a few mins ago! They are getting enough of our money to be trying to rip us off more!!

"Over $6 difference in what it rang up and the actual price!! Cashier did a price change but never mentioned having it changed in the system and didn’t notify anyone either!!"

She expressed frustration over the price discrepancy, stating that the headache medicine shouldn't have cost $6 more than the original price since it wasn't on sale.

"Stop ripping us off!!!" she demanded. "These were NOT on sale!! If you look in the comments, you'll see where I circled the price on the shelf which shows effective as of 5/27/24! Just how many people have they overcharged just for this product alone!"

"Watch everything you buy as it scans and see for yourself!!! Whether it’s a few cents or over $6, imagine the excess profit that Walmart makes just from errors like this!!!

"They are stealing from us! Like they don’t already mark prices up!!"

The U.S. Sun has uncovered other customers who feel similarly towards retailers in some cases.

One shopper criticized the retailer for not "accepting their mistakes" after being denied a refund for several overcharges.

Another customer shared that they couldn't get a refund for a $9.48 item they claimed they would "never buy."
