Billy Napier Had The Balls To Call Out Florida’s Fans After Losing To Miami By 24

Should have stayed off the message boards. It wasn't a good weekend for University of Florida fans, after the Gators got a beatdown from in-state rival Miami on Saturday. Napier is clearly on the hot seat, despite the 7-year, $51.8 million contract that he signed back in 2021 when he left Louisiana. So you'd think he would be doing all he could to stay in the good graces of Florida fans. But the coach seems to be taking a different route: Insulting them. "We gotta go to work on the football part, and I think we gotta become a more consistent team and we have to execute better. If we can focus on those things and not necessarily what some guy in his basement's saying in rural central Florida on social media, then we got a chance to get better." Wonder why those fans are upset? Could it be that your team looked completely lost against an in-state rival in your third year on the job? (Also, does he not realize that most people in Florida don't have basements? Come on, coach, if you're going to insult them at least be accurate). And I get his point. You have to tune out the criticism and focus on getting better.
