Alabama Man Sentenced for Having Methamphetamine Shipped in Mail

(Alabama)- On August 27, 2024, Charles Green Hall, 33, of Alabama was sentenced to 360 months in federal prison for his involvement in a conspiracy to possess methamphetamine with the intent to distribute, according to an announcement by Acting United States Attorney Kevin P. Davidson.

The investigation into Hall's activities began in March 2021 when federal agents started probing suspected drug and gang-related activities within the state.

The Middle District of Alabama's press release states:

The investigation revealed evidence indicating illegal narcotics were being mailed to Alabama from California. Agents worked with postal inspectors to identify and track two packages intended for Hall that were suspected to contain illegal drugs. When inspectors seized the packages, they found approximately two kilograms of suspected methamphetamine inside each one. Laboratory analysis of the contents confirmed that the packages together contained just over four kilograms of methamphetamine with a 98 percent purity level.

As part of his plea agreement and other court records, Hall admitted during a plea hearing in May 2024 that he had conspired with others to distribute and possess methamphetamine.

In addition to his 360 month prison sentence, Hall will be subject to five years of supervised release.

A federal grand jury also indicted Amber Lashawne Sellers, a 30-year-old former postal employee from Alabama, for her alleged involvement in the same conspiracy. Sellers is set to stand trial on September 23, 2024.

Based on Sellers' Rocket Reach profile, she was employed with the United States Postal Service between 2020 and 2021. Since 2021, she has held the position of Senior Fraud Analyst at Bank of America.
