Former Minnesota Vikings quarterback Jaren Hall signed with the Seattle Seahawks practice squad on Monday.

Hall was waived by Minnesota last week as the team chose to sign veteran Brett Rypien instead to its practice squad.

The 26-year-old was a 2023 fifth-round pick by the Vikings and played well during the preseason, completing 21-of-30 passes for 276 yards and four touchdowns in the final two exhibition games against the Philadelphia Eagles and Cleveland Browns.

He also led the Vikings on a game-winning drive against the Las Vegas Raiders in the first preseason game.

Hall took over last season after Kirk Cousins suffered a season-ending injury. He started against the Atlanta Falcons on Nov. 5 but didn't even make it out of the first quarter as he suffered a concussion. He finished the game 5-for-6 passing and 78 yards, while also rushing the ball twice for 11 yards.

Hall started again for Minnesota in Week 17 against the Green Bay Packers, hoping to salvage the Vikings' season. However, it was a game to forget, as Hall was pulled from the game early after completing 5-for-10 passes for 67 yards and an interception. He also fumbled in the blowout loss at home.

The Seahawks will have Geno Smith start under center with Sam Howell serving as the team's backup. Meanwhile, the Vikings will go with Sam Darnold and Nick Mullens as the backup.
