Hope Anderson feels like she is at a crossroads. She is thirty-six and has been dating her boyfriend, an orthopedic surgeon, for six years. Though she is ready for marriage and kids, she isn’t sure that he is.

Her father was recently diagnosed with ALS, so she decides to spend some time at her family’s cottage in Sunset Beach, North Carolina. She has a wedding to attend to over the weekend, which she is going to by herself. But she can use this extra time to help to get the house ready to sell, and figure out exactly what she wants her future to look like.

Tru Walls has never visited North Carolina but finds himself there looking for his father. Tru was born and raised in Zimbabwe, and he never knew his father. He is hoping to learn more about his mother through his father before returning to his beloved job as a safari guide.

When Hope and Tru’s paths connect, their connection is unlike anything they have ever known! But as they spend a few days together, they realize that they have some big decisions to make. They have to figure out what they want for their future and whether or not they could make it work.

Every Nicholas Sparks’ book is a pure joy to read. I needed something a little simpler after the hefty reads that I have been enjoying lately. So, choosing a Sparks’ book was a no-brainer. You should definitely put this book in your to be read pile!
