Bowles Reveals Week 1 Top Challenge: 'No Idea What The Other Team's Going To Do!'

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers will open their season at home against the Washington Commanders and Jayden Daniels, with Todd Bowles' side looking to get off to a good start.

But that might be easier said than done. With Washington not playing its starters for big chunks of the preseason, there is a lot of unknown about Dan Quinn's team.

Daniels is also a focal point on Sunday, and head coach Todd Bowles was asked about how hard it is to gameplan for Daniels without seeing him much in preseason.

“Really, it's week one in general,” Bowles said . “Every time you start the season out you have no idea what the other team's going to do, you have your basic plays, but then you have every other thing you got to prepare for. So we got to read our keys, and we got to play our assignments and see what we see.”

Teams rarely show their hand in preseason games, with both the offense and defense often playing vanilla schemes to keep their cards close to their chests.

The Buccaneers were no different, making Week 1 so unpredictable.

Teams don't know what to gameplan for, so the Buccaneers are almost learning on the go, and facing a dual-threat quarterback like Daniels is a tough proposition.

But as Bowles said, his team must have their details and fundamentals on point if they are to have success against the Commanders.

Week 1 is known for throwing up some upsets, and the Buccaneers hope they aren't the ones on the receiving end against Washington.
