    Appalachia preacher's song continues to be popular.

    Johnny Cash, Elvis Pressly, and recorded the Gospel classic " There Ain't No Grave Gonna Hold My Body Down." This song was written 90 years ago by Brother Claude Ely in 1934.

    Born on July 22nd, 1922, in Pucket's Creek in Lee County, Virginia, Ely was a Pentecostal Christian and singer/country preacher. Ely was the first Holiness Pentecostal recording artist to be signed to a major recording label for strictly sacred music and songs.

    "Ain't no grave" continues to be popular

    Also known as "Ain't No Grave," Ely's song continues to be sung today. The tune was even was said to have inspired some rock and role music. It was also incorporated into Robert Duvall's film The Apostle. Brother Claude Ely died at age 55 on May 7, 1978, in Newport Kentucky.
