Car plunges into Potomac

On Aug. 29 at approximately 12:30 a.m., rescue units from Bryans Road were dispatched for the report of a vehicle in the Potomac River at Marshall Hall Park. Crews arrived to find one person out of the water and one in the water attempting to grab belongings, a report from the volunteer fire department said. Both were evaluated and transported to local hospitals for check up and minor injuries. Potomac Heights Squad 7, Tenth District Squad 8, the Charles County Dive Team and Indian Head VFD assisted on the call.
