A 4-H’er from Yadkin County attended the 13th annual North Carolina Association of County Commissioners (NCACC) Youth Voice event, which was held in Winston-Salem, Aug. 9-10. North Carolina 4-H and the North Carolina Cooperative Extension Service partnered for the 13th year with the NCACC on a multi-year initiative to increase youth involvement in county government. This initiative helps youth learn more about county government as well as how to become more involved in local decision making.

The 4-H’er who attended from Yadkin County was Rebekah Crouse. She has been highly involved in the Yadkin County Teen 4-H Council and other citizenship related activities with 4-H and School. To attend this event, she was selected on her outstanding citizenship involvement and had to speak at a Yadkin County Commissioners meeting to the board.

At the Youth Voice event, more than 50 youth and adults from 40 counties were represented. The event is sponsored and supported by the North Carolina Association of County Commissioners.

“Rebekah was an excellent representative of Yadkin County 4-H at this event and we are so proud of her accomplishments,” said a representative for Yadkin County 4-H.
