Adele is saying 'goodbye' with hiatus for an 'incredibly long time'

With only a handful of dates left of her Las Vegas residency, Adele says she plans to step away for “an incredibly long time” to focus on other creative ventures.

A fan captured the 36-year-old expressing her plans to take a hiatus during a show over the weekend in Munich, Germany and posted the video to TikTok . Adele can be heard saying, "I have 10 shows to do, but after that I will not see you for an incredibly long time, and I will hold you dear in my heart."

The news might come as a shock to many as Adele still has the ability to pack venues of 75,000+, but those who keep up with the star regularly definitely saw it coming. Back in July, the singer revealed in an interview with ZDF she had plans to take a “big break” from music.

“I don’t have any plans for new music at all,” she revealed. “I want a big break after this [Las Vegas Residency] and I think I want to do other creative things, just for a little while. I don’t like being famous. I love that I get to make music all the time.”

What exactly those “other creative things,” are? We don’t know yet, but perhaps she’s also looking forward to putting some more focus on her personal life now as she also announced at an earlier show in Munich, that she is engaged to longtime boyfriend, Rich Paul .

No known date for the nuptials just yet.
