ISSA Offers Job Guarantee for Wellness Coach Graduates

New initiative offers tuition refunds to eligible graduates who are unable to secure employment within six months

It’s not news to anyone that finding a job, despite having esteemed degrees and years of experience, is becoming increasingly difficult. Hiring processes are lengthier than ever , inflation rates continue to increase, and AI-based projects are taking up more focus.

Meanwhile, in the world of wellness coaching, The International Sports Sciences Association (ISSA) has introduced a job guarantee for graduates of its Pathway Health & Wellness Coach Certification Program. This initiative aims to support graduates in their efforts to secure employment within the health and wellness field.

Under the job guarantee, ISSA will refund the full tuition to eligible Pathway graduates who, despite meeting certain criteria, are unable to find employment within 6 months of obtaining their board certification.

To qualify, graduates must complete the Pathway program, pass the National Board for Health & Wellness Coaching (NBHWC) Certifying Board Examination within a year of graduation, fulfill all tuition payments, meet the minimum requirements for coaching employment in the United States, and have interviewed with at least three health and wellness organizations within the six-month period.

“The job guarantee reflects our confidence in the quality of our program and the abilities of our graduates,” said  Brooke Jeffries, MS, CN, NBC-HWC, and associate director of the Pathway program.

The Pathway Health & Wellness Coach Certification Program is a 3-month online training course accredited by the NBHWC. The program focuses on a holistic coaching approach, known as the Empowered Well-Being System, which helps students develop advanced coaching communication and behavior change skills. Graduates are eligible to sit for the NBHWC Certifying Board Examination, earning the National Board Certified Health & Wellness Coach (NBC-HWC) credential.

ISSA’s job guarantee is designed to provide some level of financial assurance to graduates as they enter the competitive job market in health and wellness coaching.

ISSA is no stranger to education initiatives and programs. The organization collaborates with REIGN Total Body Fuel for a scholarship program , awarding recipients with ISSA education. In August, ISSA partnered with Veterans Affairs to ensure veterans and their eligible family members can enroll in its Certified Personal Training program using VA benefits.
