    Wednesday, Sept. 4The popular Edson Fichter Nature Talks series will be held at the outdoor amphitheater at Edson Fichter Nature Area in Pocatello Wednesdays in September from 6 to 7 p.m. This week’s topic is “Bats of EFNA” by Maria Pacioretty, regional habitat biologist for Idaho Fish and Game. There will be an additional acoustic walking tour to hear bats at 9 p.m. Bring a chair and come early to get a good spot.

    Load ‘em in the Dark Cattle Company’s regular Wednesday night team roping from 6 to 10 p.m. in the Indoor Arena at the Bannock County Event Center in Pocatello. Admission is free.

    Stiff Richard will perform live starting at 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 4, at First National Bar, 232 W. Center St. in Pocatello.

    Thursday, Sept. 5A free concert with Nicolas Meier Trio will be held 6 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 5, at 60 S. Main St. in Driggs. Nicolas Meier’s music is inspired by a love of Turkish, eastern and Middle Eastern music, Flamenco, Tango, flamenco, tango and more — all mixed with jazz.     Jon Wayne And The Pain will play from 8 p.m. to midnight Thursday, Sept. 5, at The Gem, 216 1st St. in Idaho Falls. Electronic reggae-dub jam band innovators, Jon Wayne and The Pain have been mesmerizing fans for nearly a decade, with their signature JWP cosmic-blend of electronic beats, fused with upbeat roots-reggae music and a psychedelic funk.     Friday, Sept. 6First Friday Art Walk will take place from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 6, throughout downtown Pocatello.

    The Gate City Shake Down will take place at 6:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 6, at Lookout Point in downtown Pocatello. Witness stunning performances by talented dancers from around the region and Mexico. From traditional to contemporary styles, experience the magic and beauty of bellydance in a vibrant and supportive setting. Admission is free.

    Saturday, Sept. 7The Senior Activity Center will host its annual Stayin’ Alive Charity Golf Tournament on Saturday, Sept. 7, at Riverside Golf Course, 3500 Bannock Highway in Pocatello. The tournament will kick off with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. This is a four-man scramble, $350 per team. Cash prizes for blind draw, mulligans, raffle and more.     Zoo Idaho in Pocatello will host the first ever SeptemBEAR Family Fest from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 7. Admission to this event includes hay rides, a scavenger hunt, animal talks with zoo keepers, and many other games and activities provided by more than a dozen local organizations. Tickets are $12 for adults, $7 for kids 12 and under, and free for children under 3.

    DogAPoolOoza takes place at the Lava Hot Springs Olympic Swimming Complex from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 7. Prizes are available for those who compete in the events with their furry friends.

    The Bluegrass on the Snake music festival will take place from noon to 6 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 7, at Russ Freeman Park in Idaho Falls. It features seven bands throughout the day.

    ISU football opens its home season Saturday, Sept. 7, with a game against Western Oregon at 4 p.m. at the ICCU Dome. Individual game tickets range from $18 to $30 depending on the game and section with ages 5 and over needing a ticket. ISU students get in free with a valid Bengal ID.     The third annual Idaho Foodbank Music Festival and Fundraiser will take place at 6 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 7, at Lookout Point in downtown Pocatello. The event will feature Paige Anne, Layne Bowen and the Aaron Ball Band live on stage.

    Justin Gambino is set to perform from 7 to 11 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 7, at the Watersprings Church, 4250 S. 25th E. in Idaho Falls. Justin will be leading worship as well as sharing some of his original music.

    Sunday, Sept. 8Acclaimed western “The Dead Don’t Hurt” will be shown at 4 and 7 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 8, at ISU’s Bengal Theater. Starring Viggo Mortenson and Vicky Krieps, two lonely immigrants find each other, but when her man Olsen goes off to fight in the Civil War, Vivienne must fend for herself. When Olsen returns from the war, they both must confront and make peace with the person each has become. Admission is free for ISU students, $2 for ISU employees and $3 for the public.

    Monday, Sept. 9People Spread Love CardMaking is scheduled for 1 p.m. Monday, Sept. 9, at the Teton Arts Studio, 110 Rodeo Drive in Driggs. People Spread Love is a 501c3 nonprofit organization that helps connect and facilitate letter writing to community members that are facing adversity. These “notes of love” could be anything from a card, note, poem, drawing or a simple token — the intention is to spread love. All materials are provided.     Zoo Idaho and Jim Dandy Brewing will host Science Trivia at 6:30 p.m. Monday, Sept. 9, at the brewery, 305 E. Lander St. in Pocatello. At this free event, you can have teams of one to four players.

    The Black Rock Gold Prospectors are scheduled to meet at 6:30 p.m. Monday, Sept. 9, at the Veterans Memorial Building, 300 N. Johnson Ave. in Pocatello. The meeting will be downstairs. The back door will be open at 6 p.m. All interested are welcome to attend to get tips on panning, sluicing, dredging, demos, equipment and metal detecting.

    Tuesday, Sept. 10The After School Creature Creating is set for 3:45 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 10, at the Teton Arts Studio, 110 Rodeo Drive in Driggs. This class is for kindergarten-aged kids and up to 10 years old. This class is perfect for the student that loves to use hot glue and a variety of materials along with their imagination to create creatures. We will be using our low-temperature hot glue guns during every class to create the creatures of our dreams, along with habitats, homes and accessories for them.
