Taylor Swift Steals the Spotlight from MVP Lamar Jackson in NFL's 2024 Hype Video

As we head into the start of the 2024 NFL season, there are few things more important than the players on the field, such as Lamar Jackson, Patrick Mahomes, Christian McCaffrey, and Justin Jefferson, among many others.

However, there might be a certain fan that the NFL appears to care about more.

Taylor Swift has taken the league by storm over the past year since she started dating Kansas City Chiefs star tight end Travis Kelce, and the pop icon has slowly taken over as the new face of the NFL.

That may be a controversial statement, but it's proven by the fact that in the league's latest hype video signifying the return of football this week, Swift is featured a total of five times, while Jackson, the 2023 MVP of the league, was featured just once.

Is Swift more important for the NFL than the former league MVP? On the field, of course not. But from a marketing angle, and the ability to draw eyeballs to the telecasts each and every week, you could make the argument that it's close.

With Swift in attendance for many of the Chiefs games last year, she routinely was featured on the telecast celebrating in the stands. This caused a lot of attention to be drawn to the games, and the mega star's massive fanbase ended up tuning into the game, which was certainly a massive boost for the NFL.

With the Chiefs and Ravens set to kick off the season on Thursday night at 8:20 p.m. ET on NBC, we will see who is featured more, Jackson or Swift.
