NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — The NYPD is investigating after a 16-year-old boy was attacked and slashed while riding a Bronx subway train early Tuesday morning, authorities said.

The teen was riding a southbound 2 train near the Jackson Avenue station in Melrose when he got into an argument with a man, officials said.

According to police, the man allegedly kicked the teen then left the train car and came back with a knife. He then slashed the teen in the back left side of his head before getting off at Prospect Avenue.

The teen was taken to NYC Health + Hospitals/Harlem with a minor laceration.

The suspect was last seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, black sweatpants and red and white Nike sneakers.

Anyone with information in regard to this incident is asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477).

I was once a teenager riding the trains and I had an attitude and a big mouth....the thing is I thank God no one stabbed me back in the day because I was one to get in your face if you gave me reason to.....I don't know what transpired here but we have got to tell our teenage kids who take public transportation to be careful...walk softly....carry a big stick just in case....I don't advocate acting loud...move and act silently in cases of emergency...and then get away quick...đź‘Ťđź’Żđź‘Ťđź’Żđź‘Ťđź’Ż
