Jets Name 2024 Captains: Aaron Rodgers, C.J. Mosley Top List

Many teams around the NFL have tried to list as many captains on the roster as they can. In some cases, as many as a fifth of the roster is named the distinguished honor.

The New York Jets are not one of those teams, though.

New York named just four captains to their team going into the new season including quarterback Aaron Rodgers, defensive tackle Quinnen Williams, linebacker C.J. Mosley, and punter Thomas Morstead.

Of the four captains, the two oldest players on both the offensive and defensive units just so happened to be named captains with Mosley and Rodgers on the list.

On the other end, the longest-tenured Jets defensive player besides Mosley just so happens to be the 26-year-old Williams. The All-Pro defensive tackle has been a key part of the Jets' rebuild to this point.

Morstead is going into his third season with the Jets and is coming off an impressive showing with multiple Player of the Week nominations from last season.

All four players named to the captaincy are obvious leaders for the roster going into a make-or-break 2024 season. New York hasn't been to the playoffs in 13 seasons - a drought that is expected to force the team to either end it or seek a new path forward across the organization.
