Back in the day, rudeness was met with a knuckle sandwich. Today you would end up on social media being ridiculed by the court of social opinion. That and charged with assault. These soft people know this and take advantage to be rude and obnoxious. I think it's even on purpose trying to get someone to react. Social media encourages this.
