In 2019, former Division 1 FCS quarterback Riley Green went viral with the single “I Wish Grandpas Never Died.” Five years later, the Jacksonville, Alabama native is joining the ranks of country stars who have branched out into the Nashville bar and restaurant business. While celebrating the grand opening of Riley Green’s Duck Blind Bar, Green dropped another bombshell: His third full-length studio album is coming next month.

Riley Green Has a New Album on the Way

An at-capacity crowd of industry members, family and friends got an exclusive look at the new Riley Green’s Duck Blind Bar in Midtown Tuesday (Sept. 3) according to a news release. The establishment opens in the former home of Winners Bar and Grill on Division Street.

While the new venue is exciting, Green had something even bigger up his sleeve. His third studio album, Don’t Mind If I Do, arrives Oct. 18, on Green’s 36th birthday.

“It feels fitting that it’s coming out on my birthday because this project feels very true to who I am, where I come from and what I’ve learned along the way,” Green said from the stage. “I can’t wait for y’all to hear it!”

Even the official Instagram account for Busch Light weighed in on the news. “Don’t mind if we cancel all of our plans that day,” the beer brand wrote.

Another Instagram fan wondered, “Well what am I supposed to do for the next 45 days?”

Ella Langley Will Make An Appearance

Don’t Mind If I Do’s title track is another promising duet between Riley Green and rising country star Ella Langley. The “Half Of Me” singer brought Langley onstage during a recent live show to premiere the unreleased song.

Green previously collaborated with Langley on “You Look Like You Love Me,” a winking ode to a woman making the first move. The song, off Langley’s debut album Hungover, earned the “Nicotine” singer her first Billboard Hot 100 appearance.

Green’s new album also features the steamy “Worst Way,” released earlier this year as part of the seven-song EP Way Out Here.
