ESPN Analyst Makes Strong Statement on Caitlin Clark vs. A'ja Wilson WNBA MVP Debate

The WNBA Rookie of the Year debate between Indiana Fever guard Caitlin Clark and Chicago Sky forward Angel Reese has been ongoing for most of the season. While both players have been historic, many feel Clark has now graduated to the WNBA MVP conversation after running away with Rookie of the Year.

This discussion really began heating up after Clark finished with 31 points and 12 assists to defeat Reese and the Sky on Friday.

Averaging 24.6 points, 9.0 assists, and 5.0 rebounds since the Olympic break, Clark has led Indiana to a 6-1 record during this stretch. Now 17-16 on the season, Indiana has clinched a spot in the WNBA playoffs for the first time since 2016.

During a recent episode of " The Elle Duncan Show ," ESPN analyst Elle Duncan pushed back against the idea that Clark could be league MVP over Las Vegas Aces forward A'ja Wilson.

On the topic of Clark's MVP candidacy, Duncan said, "Does she belong in the (MVP) conversation? For our purposes, absolutely. It's fun. But the idea that in the 11th hour we would try to act like A'ja Wilson did not wrap this thing up and continues to wrap it up and separate herself from the pack is egregious."

Clark and Wilson were each named Player of the Week for their respective conferences on Tuesday.
