Missing Marine Bailey Cameron caught on surveillance video at ATM after he was seen ‘running toward ocean on base’

A NEW sighting of missing Marine Bailey Cameron shows him using an ATM three days after he cut off all contact with family and friends.

The footage of Lance Corporal Bailey Cameron, 23, adds to the mystery of the Marine’s whereabouts – over a week after he was reported missing after a night out .

Police previously said Cameron was last seen on August 25 leaving Coyote Bar & Grill in Carlsbad, California , about 20 minutes from where he was stationed at Camp Pendleton.

Cameron was then seen on video using an ATM and at a Jersey Mike’s on August 28, Sharie Finn, founder of the Rad Movement confirmed to The U.S. Sun.

Finn revealed to The U.S. Sun that she spoke to a Marine on the base who allegedly saw Cameron last on August 31, at 11 pm PST.

“The fellow Marine was very clear that Bailey was visibly in distress,” she said.

The Rad Movement, a nonprofit organization that works to advocate for missing people, is helping Cameron’s family throughout the search for him.

Worries about Cameron’s state of mind have grown after he was reportedly last seen on base – days after he was reported missing.

“Sadly, there is a significant lack of clear communication, diligence, and even competency.”

The Marine clarified that Cameron had told him he had been on the base since returning from the bar and grill on August 25.

He attempted to help Cameron before he fled toward the ocean.

Juliette England, Cameron’s mother, told local Fox affiliate, KUSI , that she spoke to the Marine who encountered Bailey on August 31.

“The gentleman we talked to said Bailey looked so afraid, so distressed. I just need to know that he’s OK,” she pleaded.

The Rad Movement and Cameron’s parents shared in a video that the Marine they spoke to said Cameron jumped over a guard rail and into bushes.

Carlsbad Police Department, the Marine Corps, and NCIS are investigating Cameron’s disappearance, but have yet to confirm the recent sightings of him.

“We are unclear why can’t Pendleton and the police have not commented on the sightings,” Finn said when asked why authorities have yet to acknowledge the new footage.

She added that it was “disheartening” and later said that the Rad Movement works to do what the police can’t.

“That is why the RAD Movement exists,” Finn said.

“We formed this organization to serve families and fill in the gaps and ensure every stone is turned over.”

About police refusing to confirm the speculated sightings, Finn said, “Sadly, there is a significant lack of clear communication, diligence, and even competency.”

Lance Corporal Bailey Cameron was last seen on August 25.

August 25, 1:30 am – Cameron was last seen on video leaving Coyote Bar & Grill in Carlsbad.

August 25 – Cameron’s glasses, backpack, and phone are found on the sidewalk. Cameron is reported as missing.

August 28 – Surveillance footage reportedly captured Cameron visiting an ATM on the base.

August 29 – Cameron’s mom said on Facebook that he was seen near Oceanside, California

August 31 – Family claims a fellow marine reported seeing Cameron on the base looking ‘afraid and distressed’ before bolting towards the ocean.

September 2 – Captain Sartain of Camp Pendleton said, “Local commands are still [pursuing] locating and making contact with the missing Marine, no additional updates or developments have occurred at this time.”

September 3 – Captain Sartain says he is “unable to discuss speculative sightings of the Marine.”

September 9 – Cameron due to leave the Marines.

‘AN ACTIVE CRISIS’

Finn said the Rad Movement and Cameron’s family worry that he is in an “active crisis.”

“It could be stemming from a number of things, from his impending exit [from the military], to the way he was being treated the last two months, we are not clear,” she said.

Cameron’s family shared in a video what the Marine was going through before disappearing.

“He’s been expressing a lot of stress, a lot of pressure, and a lack of compass in where to go from here,” his mom said.

Cameron was set to exit the military on September 9.

His mother added that he was supposed to attend a class that was imperative to his exit.

His parents believed he overslept the next day and was worried about missing the class.

Adding to his stress, Cameron was feeling unsure about leaving the military and was insecure about his experiences in the service.

“He was thinking about his service and wanted to come back this war hero with all these stories,” England said in the video.

“His dream was ending and that meant that he wasn’t going to get those experiences.”

‘HUMILIATING’ ASSIGNMENT

England added that Cameron felt “humiliated” during the last few weeks of his service due to a recent assignment he received.

She explained that Cameron told her once he decided not to re-up, he received an assignment to clean up a gym.

“He has all of these amazing, incredible skills and he felt very humiliated and very broken over the way that his service ended,” England explained.

His parents believe this could be a contributing factor to his mental state.

Camp Pendleton previously declined to comment on the assignment.

FAMILY’S CONCERNS

Authorities are still searching for Cameron since his disappearance.

His family traveled from Washington to San Diego to help find their son.

Despite the new footage, Cameron hasn’t been in contact with friends and family.

“We have a photo of him after he went missing, but there’s been no contact, there’s been no communication with buddies or family,” his dad, Kevin Cameron, told local ABC affiliate KGTV .

Kevin added that it wasn’t “normal behavior” for his son.

Cameron is 6-foot-1 and weighs 190 pounds. He was last seen wearing a black T-shirt and jeans.
