Residents of the Sacramento Valley are in for a scorching week as high temperatures are set to climb into the triple digits, with the mercury reaching between 100 and 108 degrees through Friday. The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a heat advisory, highlighting the moderate to locally major heat risks across the region. Along with the soaring temperatures, low humidity and locally gusty winds will contribute to elevated fire weather conditions, especially in interior Northern California.

In the foothills and mountains, temperatures will remain hot, with highs in the 80s and 90s, and limited overnight relief as lows are expected to stay in the 60s to low 80s. As an upper high pressure system from the Desert Southwest strengthens and expands into California, the Central Valley will experience the brunt of the heat, with minimal cooldowns overnight.
