If you’ve ever dreamt of visiting Switzerland and trekking through the Alps, this video might give you the nudge to book your tickets. If this vending machine idea was implemented on Stateside trails, it might get more people out to exercise. At least it would encourage me to take a stroll!

This concept is far healthier than the ones we are familiar with, and its vast selections could help create a show-stopping charcuterie.

Take a look at this tasty concept in a video shared on August 15:

This is a sensational idea! Unlike the ultra-processed foods in American vending machines, this one has an array of local cheeses and meats. How smart! Kayla (@ kaykayblondiee ) reveals it also offers crackers, various jams, and even wine! What more could you ask for? So, if you’re planning a bike ride or a walk through Lauterbrunnen, Switzerland, there is no need to pack a picnic lunch, as you can select a meal at this well-stocked vending machine instead. Even better is that it’s open 24 hours a day, so you can grab a snack whenever the mood strikes. It’s convenience food at its finest, and it’s an idea we can only hope will catch on in the USA.

    Popular Swiss Cheese Varieties

    • Emmental: Known for its distinctive holes, Emmental is what most people think of when they hear Swiss cheese.
    • Gruyère: This hard cheese has a nutty, slightly sweet flavor. It’s often used in fondues and quiches and equally delightful in macaroni and cheese .
    • Raclette: This cheese is typically melted and drizzled over potatoes or vegetables. Its flavor is rich and slightly sweet, and depending on the variety, it often has hints of earthiness or butteriness.

Cheese enthusiasts were on board with this idea. Viewer @katiecaintattoos remarked, “I would eat cheese off the floor of my car. You better believe I’d be eating this.” LOL! Viewer @ashleysteven.ross reported, “Wisconsin. They have them, too. Though not with wine! That’s a nice touch. Hey Wisconsin, we’re slacking here.” It’s still nice to know we can get cheese from a vending machine in the States, but it would be even better with the wine. Viewer @nounsleft responded, “Meanwhile, in the U.S., we have Mt Dew and candy. I want to live in a more mature country.” I would take fresh seasonal cheese from local dairy farms over candy and soda any day.

Although Switzerland was already on my bucket list, I’ve moved it up a few notches. There’s something even more inviting about riding a bike through the Alps, knowing we can stop for wine and cheese .
