Natasha Rothwell is working on bringing “Who TF Did I Marry?” to television, inspired by the viral TikTok series created by Tareasa “Reesa Teesa” Johnson earlier this year. In this project, Rothwell will serve as executive producer while also taking on the role of Johnson herself.

In a series of 50 TikTok videos totaling over eight hours, Tareasa “Reesa Teesa” Johnson shares her shocking experience with her ex-husband, whom she labels a pathological liar. This captivating content has attracted more than 450 million impressions on social media and helped Johnson amass over 3 million followers in just two weeks.

Throughout her narrative, Johnson reveals startling details about her ex. He falsely claimed to have played football at San Diego State University, despite never attending the institution. He also requested funds for a funeral for his stepdaughter, who she later discovered was very much alive. Additionally, discrepancies emerged with his social insurance number, which did not align with the one on their marriage certificate. Johnson further alleges infidelity on his part. While she referred to him as “Legion” in her posts, TikTok users later uncovered his actual name to be Jerome McCoy. McCoy has since publicly refuted Johnson’s allegations.

After an intense bidding competition, Rothwell secured the rights to “Who TF Did I Marry?” under her production company, Big Hattie Productions. Recently, Mary Sayama McHenry was brought on board as the director of development. McHenry comes to Big Hattie with a wealth of experience, having worked at CBS TV Studios and, more recently, at Get Lifted Film Company.

The announcement arrives just before the September 13 launch of “How to Die Alone,” a comedy on Hulu that Rothwell not only created but also stars in. Furthermore, she will make a return in Season 3 of “The White Lotus,” revisiting her Emmy-nominated character from the first season. In addition to her role in “The White Lotus,” Rothwell gained recognition for her portrayal of Kelli in HBO’s “Insecure,” for which she also contributed as a writer. Between 2014 and 2015, she was a writer for “Saturday Night Live.” Rothwell is represented by CAA, Edna Cowan Management, and the law firm Jackoway Austen Tyerman Wertheimer Mandelbaum Morris Bernstein Trattner Auerbach Hynick Jaime LeVine Sample & Klein.

In March, Johnson joined CAA, just a month after “Who TF Did I Marry?” gained significant attention online. She graduated from Kennesaw State University with a degree in criminal justice before furthering her education in international law and counterterrorism in The Hague. Currently, she resides in the Atlanta metropolitan area and is represented by attorney Omara Harris.
