CLEMSON- Coming out of high school, Jeadyn Lukus was one of the more highly-touted prospects in his class.

A consensus Top 60 talent, expectations were high for the cornerback. However, injuries seriously derailed his first two seasons at Clemson, limiting his availability. Lukus experienced issues with both shoulders over the past couple of years, as well as an issue with one of his hips in 2023.

Entering camp this summer, Lukus was fully healthy for the first time, but it wouldn’t be long before one those shoulder started giving him issues again, and as the season-opener against top-ranked Georgia approached, there were questions surrounding whether he would back in time to play in Atlanta.

“My shoulder came out again,” Lukus said. “That gave me some problems so I was out for a couple of practices and we had to get that fixed up but it is feeling good now.”

Turns out, Lukus was more than ready. After the frustrations of his first two seasons, the junior cornerback was itching to get on the field and prove what he can do.

Not only did Lukus get the start, but he went out and recorded a career-high seven tackles.

“It was tough,” Lukus said. “Freshman year, I got hurt. Last year I got hurt. I feel like it was always something. So it felt good to get back out there and make a couple of plays.”

While the journey back to the field was tough, Lukus never stopped believing there was a light at the end of the tunnel. Now that he has made it, he is aiming to stay healthy and prove that he can become a fixture on the backend of the Tigers’ defense.

“Just staying the course,” Lukus added. “I mean I knew I’d had some bad luck with injuries but I figured eventually I was going to be able to get out there and make the best of some my opportunities. So just staying positive really. Just having fun with the guys.”
