The Standard , the big Portland insurance and financial services company, will be hosting its 16th annual Volunteer Expo from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 5 at Pioneer Courthouse Square.

There'll be more than 100 nonprofits hoping to attract people for many volunteer opportunities

Participating organizations represent health, human services, childhood education, arts, culture, humanities, the environment, animal welfare and more. Some of the organizations include Friends of Gateway Green, Portland Backpack and the Dougy Center.

“We are excited to be back in Pioneer Square this year surrounded by dozens of incredible nonprofits,” said Dan McMillan, president and chief executive officer at The Standard. "We take pride in helping connect Oregonians with volunteer opportunities at local nonprofits that strengthen our communities. Please join us in downtown Portland on Sept. 5 to learn more about these great organizations and ways you can get involved."

The Standard has a long history of supporting nonprofits that make a positive difference in our communities. The Volunteer Expo is the largest of its kind in Oregon.
