According to the Farmer's Almanac's 2024-25 Winter Outlook, NYC can expect a wet winter with continuous rain and snow. Both The Farmer's Almanac and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) are in agreement, forecasting stormy conditions with above-average precipitation and near-to-above normal temperatures for the Northeast.

The Northeast will experience a winter whirlwind with frequent storms bringing rain and snow. The coldest outbreak is expected at the end of January into February, particularly hitting the Northern Plains and Great Lakes region.

On the other hand, The Old Farmer's Almanac predicts a milder winter with higher temperatures and lower snowfall across most of the United States. The editor-in-chief of The Old Farmer's Almanac expects a temperate and uneventful winter, offering a break from extreme weather conditions. NYC residents may be in for a more manageable winter compared to the rapid-fire storms anticipated by The Farmer's Almanac. It looks like NYC could be on track for a calmer winter season amidst the contrasting predictions.

It will be interesting to see how these diverging winter forecasts play out for NYC residents. With one side predicting a wet and stormy season and the other promising a milder and calmer winter, there is certainly a level of uncertainty in the air. NYC locals might find themselves preparing for a variety of scenarios, from heavy snowfall to more moderate temperatures. Ultimately, only time will tell which prediction will ring truer for the Big Apple this winter, and residents will have to be ready for whatever weather comes their way.
