Little good ever comes out of a restaurant closing. It’s a loss of work for some, while for others it is the loss of a favorite meal. As the restaurant industry is in constant flux it can be a challenge for anyone to stay on top of the ebbs and flows of taking place around greater Phoenix. Especially when restaurants don’t make any kind of formal announcement to planned (or unexpected) closures. At the very least, patrons are due some kind of closure announcement. Your time is valuable, so if you’re heading out on a lunch break from work, it’s nice to know ahead of time, to head somewhere else. Unfortunately, that’s not what happened with one local Mexican restaurant as it closed without warning.

Maskadores Taco Shop is generally perceived as a solid local taco chain around the Valley. It is sprinkled throughout the region, so most cities have at least one location. With an established brand name, it would prove beneficial to provide customers with insights into potential closures. While nobody likes to admit failure, it lets customers know they are appreciated while also allowing them to stop by one last time for a meal. It’s a sign of respect for customers such as yourself. However, that did not prove to be the case with the sudden closure of the Ahwtukee location.

Located at 4825 East Warner Road (Suite D6), the Phoenix restaurant closed entirely unexpectedly. There was no announcement on the restaurant’s joint social media platforms, and even the website still lists the Ahwtukee location as open, going so far as to let you fill out an online order. And yet, the restaurant has now been closed for over two weeks.

It took so long just to write up this closure post simply because there wasn’t any word about the closure online. However, customers on Yelp and Google have posted on the restaurant’s respective pages that it has, in fact, closed. There is also a sign on the front door of the restaurant saying as much.

It is unfortunate the restaurant has closed, as it means one least dining opportunity for anyone living or working in the neighborhood, but it is bad form to not only avoid posting about the closure anywhere but to, at the very least, not update the online ordering profile or post to the Yelp page.

The remaining 19 Maskadores Taco Shop locations are still open, so you do have other options if it is your favorite taco restaurant around Phoenix. That is unless other spots have closed and the chain hasn’t told anyone about it.
