    Church News: Area churches plan weekly services

    Wilson Chapel Free Will Baptist

    Wilson Chapel Free Will Baptist Church will have service at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 6, with Bishop Sherman Blandon preaching. The church has Sunday school at 9 a.m. each week followed by morning worship at 10:15. Bible study is held each Monday at noon and Wednesday at 7 p.m.

    First Missionary Baptist of Lucama

    First Missionary Baptist Church of Lucama will have service at 8:45 a.m. Sunday. Speaker is the Rev. Jeffrey Simms with music by the FBL Young Adult Ensemble.

    Life in the Word Ministry

    Life in the Word Ministry has Sunday school at 9:45 a.m. followed by morning worship at 11 with the Rev. George Atkinson as speaker. Bible study is at noon Wednesday.

    Burning Bush Free Will Baptist

    Burning Bush Free Will Baptist Church, 6484 Speight School Road, will have Pastor Bishop Donnie Daniels bringing the message at 10:30 Sunday, Sept. 8. All are welcome.

    St. James Christian

    St. James Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), located at 1739 Martin Luther King Jr. Parkway, has worship service every Sunday at 11 a.m. The Rev. Della J. Owens is senior pastor. September community food giveaways are at noon Sept. 7 and 21. Food is available on a first-come, first-served basis. Fall Festival is noon to 3 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 14.

    Saratoga Original Free Will Baptist

    Saratoga Original Free Will Baptist Church will have homecoming at 10:30 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 15. Lunch will follow the service. The church is located at 6801 Church St., Saratoga.

    The Oak Grove Boys and Tammy will be in concert in the church’s Yates Family Life Center at 6 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 21.

    Calvary and First Presbyterian

    Calvary Presbyterian Church and First Presbyterian Church will host a choir and handbell concert at 4 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 29, at Calvary, 209 Pender St. N.
