Taylor Swift is dating Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce Getty CBS Mornings host Nate Burleson vehemently defended the NFL’s recent coverage of Swift in an on-air rant CBS
Since the power couple went public in September 2023, coverage has been rife during broadcasts and across the league’s social media pages – prompting plenty of complaints.
The latest example of this frustration came following the NFL’s recent release of a hype video ahead of the upcoming season.
The 29-second-long clip featured brief highlights from games throughout the 2023 season.
Among those with a starring role were NFL stars including Kelce, Aaron Rodgers , Anthony Richardson, Kirk Cousins , Nick Bosa, Ja’Marr Chase, Aaron Donald , Josh Allen , and Puka Nacua .
However, there were also appearances from famous faces including Dolly Parton , Sean Stellato, Merrianne Do, Usher , and of course, Swift.
And it was her five brief appearances that seemed to ruffle feathers among fans – something Burleson tore into on CBS Mornings .
“Get out of your feelings, ‘Oh are you upset, you’re a little mad because Taylor Swift is in the promo?'” Burleson sarcastically commented.
“Who cares! Wipe the drool off your tank top, and put some pants on and get out your mama’s basement!
“I don’t understand what the big deal is! Every other sport can show celebrities at their games.
“We show Taylor Swift and you get in your feels.
“Man, get out of your feelings and watch the games.”
Burleson’s fiery response went down a storm with fans on X .
“Bravo on this!” one fan said.
“This is 1 of many reasons @nateburleson has always and will always be my favorite!!!” commented a second.
“‘Get out your mama’s basement!’ Quote of the day!!” replied another.
