IFA 2024: Lenovo Introduces AI-Driven ThinkPad Laptops to Revolutionize Business and Personal Computing

Lenovo unveiled its latest AI-powered innovations with a lineup of ThinkPad products poised to lead businesses and consumers into the AI era.

At IFA 2024, Lenovo introduced several new PC models designed to integrate AI into both business and personal environments seamlessly. Highlights included the ThinkPad X1 Carbon Gen 13 Aura Edition, an expansion of the ThinkPad family for business users, the innovative Lenovo Auto Twist AI PC, and the AI PC Fast Start Solution.

Lenovo’s primary goal is to spearhead the AI device revolution, with AI PC adoption expected to surge—over 60% of PCs are projected to feature AI capabilities by 2027. As AI interest grows, Lenovo’s AI PCs aim to transform user experiences with natural interactions, personalized large language models, and advanced computing architecture, making computing more personal, productive, and secure.

ThinkPad X1 Carbon Gen 13 Aura Edition

Weighing just 1kg, the ThinkPad X1 Carbon Gen 13 Aura Edition continues Lenovo’s legacy of delivering premium business laptops. Powered by the latest Intel Core Ultra processors (Series 2), this flagship model offers significant advancements in AI computing, exceptional power efficiency, and 3x the AI performance compared to the previous generation, thanks to both the NPU and GPU.

Focusing on the specs, the ThinkPad X1 Carbon Gen 13 Aura Edition features an Intel Core Ultra processor (Series 2) with Intel Arc Xe graphics and an integrated NPU capable of delivering up to 48 TOPS. It boasts a 14-inch 2.8K OLED Dolby display, Copilot+ features, and a 57Wh battery that offers up to 18 hours of usage.

The ThinkPad X1 Carbon Gen 13 Aura Edition will be available in November 2024, with an expected price of $1,999.

Lenovo Aura Edition

After years of collaboration with Intel, Lenovo has unveiled the Lenovo Aura Edition series, showcasing innovative technologies designed to personalize and simplify user interaction with their devices. The Lenovo Aura Edition lineup, including the ThinkPad X1 Carbon Gen 13 and Lenovo Yoga Slim 7i, integrates Smart Modes, offering users various modes to customize their experience based on their needs. The available modes are:

• Shield : Enhances security.
• Attention : Reduces distractions to help prioritize work.
• Collaboration : Optimizes virtual meetings.
• Wellness : Focuses on digital health and posture improvement.
• Power : Balances performance and power consumption within apps.

Another standout feature is Smart Share , which enables seamless AI-powered picture sharing between smartphones and laptops. Simply tap a supported smartphone on the screen edge, and the Smart Share window will open on both the PC and smartphone, allowing for easy drag-and-drop file transfers.

Lastly, Smart Care provides convenient access to Lenovo’s online support tools and chatbot, offering real-time solutions for common problems.

ThinkPad T14s Gen 6 AMD

Paired with the AMD Ryzen AI, the ThinkPad T14s Gen 6 offers an exclusive AI experience with a 3X performance boost compared to its predecessors. The Zen 5 core and AMD Radeon graphics can ensure outstanding responsiveness, multitasking, and rapid content creation. Not to mention, AMD PRO technology enables great security to maintain business confidence.

Focusing on the specs, the laptop is running on AMD Ryzen AI PRO processors with an integrated Radeon graphic and NPU built in, supports Copilot+, offers up to 64GB of LPDDR5x, 17 hours of battery life on MM25 battery, WiFi 7 and 5G sub 6Hz, and a 3M DBEF5 technology to increase the WUXGA panels to 400 nits for a better display without sacrificing too much of your battery, and many more!

The ThinkPad T14s Gen 6 AMD will be available in October 2024, with the expected price at $1,699.

ThinkBook 16 Gen 7+

As a premium AI-powered laptop, the ThinkBook 16 Gen 7 is designed to boost productivity and creativity with AMD Ryzen 9 AI 365 processors, offering up to 50 TOPS capabilities for next-gen AI performance, enabling seamless multitasking and content creation. Paired with AMD Radeon 880M graphics, it delivers high-resolution visuals for an immersive experience and will receive a free update to Copilot+ PC experiences when available.

Focusing on the specs, the laptop features a 16″ 3.2K display for stunning visuals, Wi-Fi 7 for faster connectivity, and an 85Wh battery that offers more than 17 hours of 1080p video playback, ensuring extended use during work or play.

The ThinkBook 16 Gen 7+ will not be available in North America but is set to launch in EMEA in October 2024, with an expected price of €999.

ThinkBook 16 Gen 7 – powered by Snapdragon X Plus

Being a Copilot+ PC, the ThinkBook 16 Gen 7 is designed to revolutionize productivity and creativity professionally while combining with AI capabilities thanks to the Snapdragon X Plus processor. In terms of the spec, the ThinkBook 16 Gen 7 features a Snapdragon X Plus 8-core processor with a dedicated NPU delivering 45 TOPS, on-device AI assistance, enhanced Lenovo Pro Sound with Super-linear speakers and Dolby Atoms audio, 84Wh battery, robust feature of business security.

The ThinkBook 16 Gen 7 will be available on October 2024, with the expected price at $749.
