NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — A man and woman were wounded in a double shooting over a parking dispute on a Bronx street Thursday morning, according to the NYPD.

The shooting happened at approximately 9 a.m. in front of an apartment building located on Bryant Avenue in Crotona Park East.

According to officials, both the 66-year-old victim and the gunman were armed and appeared to have been arguing over a parking spot. Sources told 1010 WINS that the 66-year-old man menaced the suspect with a gun first and the suspect then shot back three times.

Upon arrival, officers found a 48-year-old woman with a gunshot wound to the ankle and the 66-year-old man had been shot three times in the torso.

His gun was recovered by police on the ground next to him.

Both victims were taken to St. Barnabas Hospital where the 66-year-old man remains in critical condition. The woman is expected to survive, authorities said.

The 66-year-old man was charged with possession of an illegal firearm.

The gunman fled the scene in an unknown direction.

    An investigation remains ongoing.

Criminals walk around with illegal guns and other weapons every day. The cops weren’t there. So how does one protect themselves from someone with an illegal gun or another weapon when there are no police officers around and someone is looking to harm you?!
