    • Preheat the oven to 375 degrees.
    • Unroll the pie crust and place it in a pie tin and crimp the edges.
    • Poke the bottom with a fork and bake for 10 minutes. Remove and let cool.
    • Reduce the oven to 350 degrees.
    • Slice the onion into thin slices and place in a large saute pan with the butter.
    • Saute over low heat for about 15-20 minutes until the onions are caramelized.
    • Slice the tomatoes into thin slices, about ¼” thick and lay on paper towels in a single layer.
    • Sprinkle the salt over the slices and allow the juices to drain into the towels.
    • Cover with another layer of paper towels and press down to make the tomato slices as dry as possible.
    • In a medium sized bowl, combine the cheeses, garlic, basil, green onion, mayonnaise, onion powder and black pepper. Stir to mix well.
    • Start assembling the pie by placing a layer of tomatoes on the bottom.
    • Cover with about half of the cheese mixture and spread in an even layer.
    • Take about half of the onions and lay them on top.
    • Repeat the layers, first tomatoes, then cheese layer, then top with the caramelized onions.
    • Place in the oven and bake for 30 minutes.
    • Remove and let cool slightly before slicing and serving.
    • Garnish with fresh basil or parsley if desired.
