It opened in 1924, and seats around 20,000 people.</p><p>"It has been 45 years since this venue has hosted a basketball game," Birmingham Mayor Randall Woodfin said, according to AL.com. Alabama opened its season in 1979 by playing Maine in Birmingham.</p><p>Alabama is slated to play in Birmingham in the regular season in the C.M. Newton Classic on November 20. The Crimson Tide will take on the Illinois Fighting Illini in the neutral-site matchup.</p><p>Wake Forest is the second exhibition of the Crimson Tide's schedule for the 2024-2025 season.
