Search and rescue teams are actively searching for a Kentucky man who was last seen more than a day ago in Hardin County.

Derik Walker, 46, from Ekron, was reported missing near the confluence of the Ohio and Salt Rivers around 12:50 a.m. Wednesday, not far from the West Point Boat Ramp.

According to the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife, Walker was on a boat with two other individuals who reported that he jumped into the river while they were fixing wiring on a floodlight. They heard a splash and saw him surface a few times before he vanished from sight.

As of 3 p.m, Thursday, the search for Walker remains ongoing. Kentucky State Police are coordinating with dive teams from the Louisville Metro Police Department and rescue teams from Jefferson and Hardin counties in their efforts to locate him.
