They just never learn, do they? Of course, part of the deal of when making the venture to Yellowstone National Park, which let's be honest, is kind of in the middle of nowhere, is seeing wild animals that, for the most part, you can't see anywhere else in the lower 48 states. Especially... all in one place. Bison, wolves, bears, elk... the park is home to some of the most majestic creatures in North America, and the world. So yeah, if we're making the trip, we all want to see these animals, but... it has to be a safe distance. What's a safe distance? Well, the park recommends the following:
"The safest (and often best) view of wildlife is from inside a car. Always stay at least 100 yards away from bears and wolves, and at least 25 yards away from all other animals, including bison and elk." And if that's too confusing... how about "if a park ranger tells you to get back, get back." Welp, these folks had trouble with that one too. A few months back, a group of people were along a road when they got a view at a grizzly bear, and a few, just had to wander down... off the road... to get a better view. The ranger started to order people back on the road, and some just couldn't take the hint. One woman in particular needed to hear it three times: "Apparently, third time's a charm..." Don't be these people... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lKNGY9hQhQo
