According to a report from TMZ , Rapper Rich Homie Quan has passed away at the age of 34 at his home in Atlanta. The cause of his death has not been disclosed.

Known for his hit song "Type of Way," Quan's music became the unofficial anthem for the 2013 Michigan State football team. The song was a staple during the Spartans' postgame celebrations as they enjoyed a remarkable 13-1 season. His connection to the team deepened when they invited him to celebrate their 2014 Rose Bowl victory over Stanford, where he joined the players in the locker room as his song played in the background.

In November 2023, after Michigan State secured their 10th win of the season, head coach Mark Dantonio shared a personalized video message from Quan with the team, which was well-received by the players.
