WILMINGTON — Jamal Richards’ goal in the 65th minute made the difference as Caesar Rodney High edged Wilmington Charter, 3-2, in its boys’ soccer season opener on Thursday.

The Riders had lost their last two openers against the Force. It was CR’s first victory over Charter since 2019.

Trevor Sullivan and Joseph Honroe tallied first-half goals with Richards adding an assist.

Sophomore goalie Grant Parsons made 10 saves for CR, which plays its first four games on the road.
