Hopeful Lutheran Church hosting outdoor GLOW event, with car show, supports charities

Hopeful Lutheran Church will be holding its annual outdoor, family-friendly GLOW event on Saturday, September 21 from 2 p.m. until after dark at 6430 Hopeful Church Road in Florence.

Hopeful’s Senior Pastor, Blair Fields, was inspired to create GLOW by Cincinnati’s BLINK experience. “I wanted to show God’s love to the community by lighting up our building while helping those who help others,” Fields explained.

A unique event where there is truly something for everyone, the day will kick off with a car show at 2 p.m. (registration is from noon-2).

There will also be inflatables for the kids and glow-in-the-dark volleyball for recreation, while food and drinks from Snappy Tomato Pizza, Bam Bam’s Backyard BBQ, and the Grape Vines Wine Bar will be available for sale. Hamburgers and hot dogs will also be available for purchase.

Bring chairs or a blanket to enjoy live music beginning at 6 p.m. and stay for the namesake GLOW slideshow – a musically and visually stunning exhibition that is a feast for the senses and spirit alike – around 8:30 p.m.

Aside from providing opportunities for fellowship and enjoyment, Hopeful’s GLOW event will also provide support for the NKY community.

Donations will be welcomed for admission to the car show, which will uphold Hopeful’s various and ongoing philanthropic ministries.

New children’s socks, hats, gloves, and underwear will be collected for the Yealey Elementary Family Resource Center; new and gently worn coats and children’s books will be gathered for Hope Ministries ( hopenky.org) ; and food staples and bottled water will be accepted in support of Hopeful’s Pantry of Hope.
