Lamar Jackson and the Baltimore Ravens opened their 2024 regular season with a loss at the hands of the reigning Super Bowl-champion Kansas City Chiefs on Thursday night.

Jackson did all he could to keep his team in the game until the very end, throwing for 273 yards and rushing for 122. But when it came down to the final seconds, the reigning league MVP wasn't able to get the job done.

Jackson missed a couple wide open throws to the end zone that would've given the Ravens a chance to tie or take the lead. He finally connected with Isaiah Likely in the back of the end zone, but the tight end's foot was ruled out of bounds.

ESPN analyst Ryan Clark discussed the game with his Get Up colleagues on Friday morning.

"The only reason they're in the game, the only reason they have those three plays is because of [Lamar Jackson]. But now you have to make them," Clark said.

"I love Lamar Jackson. I want Lamar Jackson to win all the Super Bowls," Clark continued. "[But] you can't beat that dude [Mahomes] and that team [Chiefs] without making that throw."

his performance should not be remotely surprising, as it seems he can never get it done when defenses tighten up.

Jackson always trying to be the playmaker and so do the Ravens coaching staff, this is why it's so hard for them to sign offensive top tier FA's,look at Derrick Henry's whopping 13 carries in his debut
