First Deputy Mayor Sheena Wright, Deputy Mayor for Public Safety Philip Banks III, and Commissioner Edward Caban of the New York Police Department had their devices, including phones, taken by investigators from the US Attorney's Office for the Southern District of New York, according to sources.

A person acquainted with the situation claims that David Banks, the Chancellor of New York City schools, was also subpoenaed for his gadgets.

The Phones of Three Lower Level Police Officers

According to persons familiar with the inquiry, investigators also handed Timothy Pearson, Adams' special adviser, and a former police inspector, a subpoena for his phone.

Regarding the recent law enforcement action, the FBI and the US Attorney's Office for the Southern District of New York declined to comment. However, three sources briefed on the investigations stated that the US attorney's investigation into police officials is unrelated to the bureau's ongoing investigation into Adams's campaign fundraising.

Subpoenas for the phones of three lower level police officials were also issued, according to sources briefed on the probe.
