Kevin Durant Didn’t Hesitate When Naming His Least Favorite NFL Team

NBA superstar Kevin Durant didn’t hold back when asked about his least favorite NFL team during a segment on Kay Adams' "Up and Adams Show" on Friday morning, September 6.

Durant, who has built a Hall of Fame career in the NBA, is a massive NFL fan. While he says he doesn’t "hate any teams or any players," there is one team he simply can’t stand.

It’s “America’s Team,” the Dallas Cowboys.

“Cowboys, easy,” Durant said without hesitation when asked if he could get rid of one NFL team. "I just don’t like them."

Durant, a well-known fan of the Washington Commanders, pointed to the long-standing rivalry between Washington and Dallas, as well as the Cowboys’ fanbase, which he feels has gained a reputation for attracting fair-weather fans.

This has only been heightened by Washington’s struggles in recent years, missing the playoffs in seven of the last eight seasons, while the Cowboys have made it five times in the same span.

“I think it’s because a lot of people where I’m from in D.C. have become Cowboys fans,” Durant explained. “I just hate that they don’t stay loyal to the crib.”

The rivalry between Washington and Dallas has always been fierce, so it’s no surprise that Durant, a die-hard Commanders fan, has strong feelings about this NFC East foe.

For those Washington fans who’ve switched sides to cheer for Dallas, Durant had a clear message — he doesn’t want them back.

"They’re going to have to stay on that side,” Durant said. “We’re not letting them back in.”

Despite attending the University of Texas for college, Durant’s disdain for the Cowboys remains strong. He has stayed loyal to his hometown team, the Commanders, regardless of where his NBA journey has taken him.
