WEST BLOOMFIELD (WWJ) — The search is on for a man who robbed a West Bloomfield bank while wearing an “old man” mask on Friday morning.

Just after 10:30 a.m. police got a 911 call about an armed robbery that just happened at Fifth Third Bank on Haggerty Road near Pontiac Trail.

The caller told police the man was wearing an “old man” Halloween mask with gray hair, blue latex gloves, a light gray hoodie, khaki pants and white sneakers with neon stripes on them.

The suspect, believed to be about 6-feet-tall, was carrying a black umbrella with yellow smiley face polka dots.

Police officials say he was allegedly seen carrying a pistol.

The suspect fled the bank in an unknown direction with a “large sum of cash.” Authorities are not sure if he ran from the scene or got into a car.

No injuries were reported during the robbery.

Police are continuing to investigate and are asking anyone who knows something about the robbery to call 248-975-8934.
