The Chicago Cubs have a chance to make some noise in 2025.

Chicago has a solid team, but it likely won't be back in the postseason. The Cubs have been good lately, but they are running out of time to make up ground in the standings. While this is the case, Chicago could be really good in 2025.

The Cubs certainly aren't entering a rebuild and likely will end up spending this winter as they look to get back to the playoffs. Bleacher Report's Joel Reuter attempted to predict every team's 2025 Opening Day lineup and predicted that the Cubs will sign San Francisco Giants outfielder Mark Canha.

"If the Cubs are going to spend big this offseason, the first order of business should be shoring up the relief corps with multiple proven, late-inning arms," Reuter said. "They could also use at least one more starting pitcher, so the starting lineup may be more or less set.

"A low-cost veteran such as Mark Canha could help bridge the gap to young outfielders Owen Caissie and Kevin Alcántara, while also providing a backup option for Michael Busch at first base and a designated hitter/pinch hitter option."

Canha has been solid so far this season and has seven home runs and 42 RBIs in 115 games played with the Giants and Detroit Tigers. He will be a free agent this winter and certainly will have plenty of suitors. Maybe the Cubs will end up being one of the options for him.

I think the loaded minor league outfielders will take care of that role.
