Soon. Zach Bryan looks like he is gearing up to release another cinematic masterpiece—but with a twist. In August, Zach Bryan shared with fans that his girlfriend, Brianna (Chickenfry) LaPaglia, is leaning into her creative side and wrote the "Oak Island" music video
. When discussing the project, LaPaglia noted how excited she was. She said that she cast “one of her bestest friends” as one of the lead actors, and that character would also be working alongside “a legend,” who is now confirmed to be Oscar-winner Casey Affleck. After the news broke, fans wondered whether Bryan had made the right choice. The release of his "Nine Ball" music video with Matthew McConaughey created a new standard for storytelling. While music videos are often an extension of lyrics, "Nine Ball" turned the lyrics into a script, and the visuals flawlessly amplified the song's meaning. Given the impact of the "Nine Ball," it's not shocking that fans questioned how this story would unfold visually with an inexperienced screenwriter taking the reins. Today, ZB re-activated his Instagram, shared a snippet of the music video, and shared it on other social platforms. The video, directed by Matthew Dillon Cohen (who goes by Bongo), who also directed "Nine Ball," appears to live up to the standard set from the snippet. The video also appears to star Jack Martin (NBC's
La Brea). The dark and slightly hazy video setting highlights a man trying to get in touch with his brother. His brother is not answering calls because he got involved with a bad group of boys at "Oak Island." You can hear the panic in his voice as each attempt to reach his brother fails, which takes an emotional toll on him. "I know Mom wants to see you... I'm not a collector. I'm your brother." As the narrator leaves messages, the visuals show the spiral he finds himself in, leading to a series of intense events before he wakes up from what seems like a "dream" and slams the snooze button on his alarm clock. The teaser then ends with a flash of the song's title. This looks like it will be another cinematic masterpiece. Of course, we can confirm that once the entire video is released, but Brianna Chickenfry appears to have done a knockout job based on what is shown via the teaser. https://www.instagram.com/p/C_lccQ5voZ8/ You might as well fire up "Oak Island" while you're here. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=osNrPrgcKFc
