Joppatowne High School Shooting: Incident Contained, Victim Hospitalized

Harford County Sheriff Jeff Gahler has confirmed that an incident took place at Joppatowne High School, where a 16-year-old boy shot a 15-year-old classmate inside a bathroom. The victim sustained a single gunshot wound and was transported to a nearby hospital in serious condition.

A recent statement released by the Harford County Sheriff's Office confirms that the ongoing situation is contained and poses no threat of an active shooter. Parents are advised that the designated reunification center for student pickup is situated at Good Shepherd Presbyterian Church, situated on 622 Joppa Farm Rd.

A Harford County Public Schools spokeswoman reporters that there was an "isolated incident" at the school and administrators are working closely with the Harford County Sheriff's Office.

The individual who fled the school following the shooting incident was swiftly captured at a nearby apartment just minutes later.
