Recruiting is one of the many things Texas head coach Steve Sarkisian has excelled in since arriving to Austin.

His first full recruiting cycle with the Longhorns in 2022 concluded with the No. 5 class in the nation, headlined by key members of the current squad in left tackle Kelvin Banks and running back Jaydon Blue.

Sarkisian's staff followed that up with the No. 3 class in the country after landing several prominent five-star players including quarterback Arch Manning and linebacker Anthony Hill. In 2024 , Texas brought in the No. 5 class in the country.

Can Sarkisian continue this success on the recruiting trail in 2025? We'll soon find out. However, his recruiting success has already translated to on-field success and could ultimately be the difference maker in Texas' Week 2 matchup against Michigan.

The current roster talent comparison has a clear discrepancy between five-star players on each roster. Texas has 11 five-star players on its current roster compared to Michigan's one.

The Longhorns also have more four-star players on the roster with 50 in comparison to the Wolverines 46.

Texas will hope its deep roster, which is nearly all players that Sarkisian's staff has recruited, will be the difference maker on Saturday against Michigan. This will mark the first regular season meeting between the two blueblood programs.

The anticipated matchup will kick off at 11 a.m. CT on Sept. 7.
