DeSantis is pushing this amendment, so of course it relates to his incessant culture wars and fighting imaginary monsters … gay people, books, foreigners, the usual stuff authoritarians want to make us afraid of so they can paint themselves as the protectors. But the fact that a majority of his hand-picked M4L candidates were not elected this term shows that most FL voters are getting wise to his dog & pony show and are thinking instead what is best for their schools and community.

I think school boards should be partisan. People don’t do the research they need to about politicians much less school board members. The party In which they are running in makes a very big difference on how they align themselves and what they support or believe in. This makes it easier for parents and people in general to make a more educated decision when voting. This is why they do Not want it, they can’t hide behind cloaks but people see what they stand for (or do Not Stand for In a lot of cases with school board members today)!
