The Indiana Fever are rolling with great momentum nearing the end of the 2024 WNBA regular season, and they have their fans to thank for that.

Indiana is currently on a five-game winning streak. They stand firm as the third best team in the Eastern Conference and the sixth best team in the league with an 18-16 record, recently securing a spot in the WNBA playoffs.

A lot of this, especially after shaking off a 1-8 start to the season, is thanks to the overall team chemistry flourishing with Caitlin Clark, Kelsey Mitchell, and Aliyah Boston leading the show.

The star trio combines for 51.6 of the team's 84 points per game to generate the third-best offense in the league. Despite the team's defensive woes of 86.5 points allowed per game (second-worst overall), they have made for it with their excellent stretch of games with the ongoing five-game winning streak.

Another aspect of the team's recent success involves the fans themselves, who have displayed immense passion for the squad despite the slow start, showing patience in the Fever's growth over the course of the season as they are finally seeing more victories than losses on their record.

Fever forward NaLyssa Smith, averaging 11.1 points and 7.4 rebounds this season, reflected on the impact of the Fever fans, praising them for their love of the team and willingness to support them through the ups and downs of the season.

"It's huge for us. The fans, it helps us out a lot when they're cheering and going crazy, it makes you want to play harder," Smith said .

Indiana has a matchup tonight against the Minnesota Lynx, currently the best team in the Western Conference with a 24-9 record. The Fever will need all the support they can get from the home crowd, knowing they're facing a title contender that could tell if Indiana has the ability to make a deep run in the playoffs.

After tonight's matchup with the Lynx, they remain at home as they host the Atlanta Dream on Sept. 8 at 5 p.m. ET.
