As fall starts to creep in, fall weather (or potential fall weather) has us thinking about jackets. While we of course need regular jackets for when it gets cold out, it’s always useful to have a rain jacket around too. And in Aldi’s upcoming Aldi Finds selection , they have a rain jacket that’s so similar to Athleta and Eddie Bauer styles that are over 11 times the price.

Aldi will be selling a Crane Ladies Rain Jacket for $14.99 in the Aldi Finds aisle from Sept. 11 to Sept. 17. It’s a pretty classic rain jacket design with a body that hits at the top of your thigh, a high-low hem and a “classic fit” (basically not a super roomy and more fitted). It has an adjustable hood with a draw cord to tighten it if needed. This rain jacket is water repellent (which is a relief for a rain jacket), waterproof 3000mm (which means this can handle light rain and casual use with rain), breathable, wind-proof and wind resistant.

    Aldi

Aldi’s jacket comes in three colors: black, pink and an all-over print (gray, white and black leopard print). There are differences between the colors available, including sizing: black comes in M–XXL, pink comes in M–XL and the all-over print comes in S–XL. The black and pink colors also have velcro at their sleeves along with an adjustable waist that uses a similar draw cord as the hood (so that you can pull it in for a more defined waist). The all-over print has a two-way zipper and elastic band at the cuffs.

All of the colors have inner seam tapes to help their water-repellent feature along with a mesh lining and side pockets. Plus, they’re all made with 100% Polyester and have a Rudolf ECO Bionic Finish, per Aldi’s site.

    Athleta

As we mentioned before, this new Aldi rain jacket is similar to other styles out there like Athleta’s RainOut Sutro Trench , which is currently $169. It is also semi-fitted and a regular length that hits at the hip as well. It’s also made with polyester throughout, except they use recycled polyester. This one does have a more defined waist in the back and adjustable cuffs. It has a hood too, but it doesn’t seem adjustable. Athleta’s rain jacket is also waterproof, wind-resistant and breathable.

    Eddie Bauer

Another product that Aldi’s rain jacket is similar to is Eddie Bauer’s Women's Girl on the Go Trench Coat , which is currently on sale for $89.40 (it was originally $149). It has a very similar silhouette and design to Aldi’s, it’s just longer and has princess seams “for a slimming, flattering fit.” It has two-way front zippers, an adjustable hood (that’s also removable) and is waterproof. It has two layers and is also made with 100% polyester.

So if you’re in the market for a waterproof coat for fall, Aldi’s Crane Ladies Rain Jacket is worth checking out. Even if it’s not made with the same quality of materials as Athleta and Eddie Bauer, it at least looks very similar and should get the job done and keep you dry on a rainy day.
