The social media platform thinkspot is running a writers contest for this month. You will have until Tuesday, September 24 to enter this contest with winners being announced on Monday, September 30.

The theme of this contest is "Thoughts on Balancing Free Speech." Entrants will have to come up with an essay between 500 and 1,000 words on what you think can be done to find the fine line between being allowed in a free society to say whatever you want and consistently saying derogatory statements that would eventually become a further detriment to the moral fiber of the republic.

Please take some time to ruminate about what you want to write about because there are cash prizes in this writing contest. Here is a look at the prizes that will be announced on the last day of September.

First Prize: $500 along with a lifetime membership to thinkspot

Second Prize: $300 along with a one-year membership to thinkspot

Third Prize: $100 along with featured status in a future thinkspot newsletter

The stakes are high so make sure that you are eligible for this contest.

To be eligible for this event, you will have to register for a free thinkspot account or already have an existing thinkspot account.

You will have to publish your essay on this account with the essay prompt "Thoughts on Balancing Free Speech Rights" along with a corresponding subtitle that you create. The platform has given you an example of what they are looking for in your entry.

Whatever you write must be an original work. You will not be able to copy and paste an article that you previously written on another site. You will also not be allowed to use Artificial Intelligence (AI) to write your post because thinkspot will be checking your essay for plagiarism.

Finally, you must link your Stripe account to thinkspot so that they will be able to transfer the money to you if you are first, second, or third in this contest.

Good luck to everyone that enters the contest.
